VOLK heats up Lafayette

by Carl Abernathy on January 17, 2018

Temperatures hovered near zero in Lafayette Tuesday night. It didn’t take long for Chris Lowe and Eleot Reich of VOLK to start heating things up.

They started their set at People’s Brewing Co. with a sexy simmer, shimmying through old-school country, Western swing and spaghetti western tunes.

Then, midway through a song, Lowe started burning on his guitar. And when he started fiddling with his pedal case, he must have flipped a switch that turned Reich from a country princess into a metal goddess. When Reich starts flailing on her drums, she’s as maniacal as any drummer I know. That’s a good thing.

Nope, make it a great thing. See VOLK if you can. They’ll heat up your night.
